Effect of storage period on the dominant weathering processes of biodiesel and its blends with diesel in ambient conditions

► Mass loss of diesel present samples depended on the small molecular hydrocarbons. ► The low evaporation rate of FAMEs resulted in the negligible loss of biodiesels. ► Evaporation process was the dominant weathering mechanism in this simulated study. ► The contribution of FAMEs to the evaporation of diesel hydrocarbons was negligible.
