Dual-site Langmuir modeling of the liquid phase adsorption of linear and branched paraffins onto a PVDC carbon molecular sieve

► Adsorption studies of linear and branched hydrocarbons on a CMS were conducted. ► The experimental data were adjusted to a dual-site Langmuir kinetic model. ► The non-selective adsorption process was followed by a selective adsorption process. ► Non-selective process: meso-supermicropores. Selective process: micropores. ► The selective part of the adsorption process was crucial for attaining the separation.
