Biodiesel from saturated and monounsaturated fatty acid methyl esters and their influence over noise and air pollution

► We analyzed the influence on noise/air pollution of monoun- and saturated biodiesel. ► A strong correlation between sound pressure maximum level and loudness was found. ► Roughness attenuation was more meaningful than loudness when the blends were used. ► Biodiesel from saturated fatty acid methyl esters improves air/noise emissions. ► Both sets of biodiesel blends reduce air and noise pollution, improving sound quality.
