Pyrolysis of pistachio shell: Effects of pyrolysis conditions and analysis of products

► Pistachio shell was pyrolyzed to study parameter effects on product yields. ► The most effective parameter was reaction temperature. ► Maximum liquid yield was obtained at 500 °C, 30 min and 150 ml min−1 as 53.36%. ► Liquid product was a oxygenated complex mixture with 18 identified compounds. ► Solid product was a valuable fuel but wasn't suitable for active carbon applications.
