Removal of nitric oxide by activated ammonia generated by vacuum ultraviolet radiation

► The first clear observations of NO removal using “activated ammonia” were presented. ► Activated ammonia was generated by using a 172 nm VUV excimer lamp. ► A temperature window enlargement of 150 °C was achieved at the lower boundary. ► The number of photons per mole of NH3 was proposed for explaining NO removal.
