Recrystallization of adefovir dipivoxil particles using the rapid expansion of supercritical solutions (RESS) process

- Submicron particles of adefovir dipivoxil were produced with the RESS process.
- Particle size increased with increasing extraction and pre-expansion temperature.
- Particle size decreased with increasing extraction pressure and spray distance.
- Chemical nature of adefovir dipivoxil was not changed by the RESS process.
