Transesterification of waste cooking oil by heteropoly acid (HPA) catalyst: Optimization and kinetic model

► Biodiesel was produced from waste cooking oil using heteropoly acid catalyst. ► Optimization and modeling of the process was performed. ► Kinetic parameters were determined for the triglyceride reaction. ► Catalyst could be reused up to four times without significant loss of activity. ► Biodiesel conformed with ASTM D6751 standards.
