Experimental study of the dynamic evolution of cumulative energy release during LiF fracture under uniaxial compression

Experiments of uniaxial compression of LiF samples were performed and time series of electromagnetic and acoustic pulses during the evolution of the fracturing process were recorded. The samples were compressed in such a way so as they manifest the Kaiser effect. In each cycle of compression-decompression, a recently proposed cumulative energy release model of the catastrophic fracturing process was applied and the associated parameters were computed. This way, their behavior is monitored as the final point of macroscopic rupture is being approached. Moreover, complexity was estimated by means of Tsallis entropy and Fuzzy entropy, providing more insight about the physical interpretation of the temporal evolution of the calculated parameters' values during the conducted experiment.
