Reduction in power transmission loss using fully informed particle swarm optimization

► FIPS applied first time to solve OPF problem and yields better results as compared to PSO. ► Our PSO implementation is better as compared to previous researchers implementation. ► Proper tuning of parameters makes our PSO and FIPS implementation much efficient. ► FIPS results in small SD as compared to PSO which makes it more reliable. ► Due to small SD, FIPS can replace existing LP method and interior point method.
