A nonlinear binary programming model for electric distribution systems reliability optimization

► We developed nonlinear binary programming models for SAIDI and SAIFI minimization. ► Functions of the locations of protective devices and sectionalizing switches. ► The model is able to find better solutions than other found in the literature. ► Reliability improves trough the optimal allocation of the devices. ► Investment cost for reliability improvement can be reduced.
