Integrating independent component analysis and local outlier factor for plant-wide process monitoring

► We propose a novel plant-wide process monitoring scheme. ► A novel monitoring statistic is required to assure the robust accuracy. ► To model the scheme, LOF is introduced as a statistic and integrated with ICA. ► We examine the detection rate on widely used process problems with existing schemes. ► The proposed scheme shows the highest detection rate regardless of data distribution.
