Preparation of nanocoatings in the presence of precipitated CaCO3 fillers by UV-curing

► Precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) with different morphology and particle size were prepared by ultasound assited carbonation method. ► UV-curable formulations contain mixture of acrylate resins, PCC and GCC were prepared by sonication. ► Mechanical and thermal properties of films were characterized with DMA. ► Increasing PCC loading percentages increases the elastic moduli (E*) by even more than 50% for some films. ► The highest glass transition temperature (Tg) values of 94 °C was obtained for film which contains PCC prepared by sonication.
