Polyurethanes with amphiphilic surfaces made using telechelic functional PDMS having orthogonal acid functional groups

► Polyurethane coatings having an amphiphilic surface were prepared. ► Novel functional siloxane polymers with orthogonal acid groups were synthesized. ► Siloxane polymers with orthogonal acid groups were incorporated into a polyurethane matrix. ► Surface characterization showed that the acid functional siloxane was present on surface. ► Laboratory assays of amphiphilic coatings illustrated their utility in the marine environment.
