Kinetic and kinematic responses of post mortem human surrogates and the Hybrid III ATD in high-speed frontal sled tests

► PMHSs and Hybrid III 50th male ATD matched dynamic frontal sled tests. ► High severity sled acceleration matching a FMVSS 208 frontal barrier test of a mid-size sedan. ► Quantified accelerations, reaction forces, belt forces and bilateral kinematics. ► Notable discrepancies were observed between the responses of the PMHSs and Hybrid III ATD. ► Data that can be used to evaluate the performance of ATDs and validate computational models.
