Preparation of triethylene-tetramine grafted magnetic chitosan for adsorption of Pb(II) ion from aqueous solutions

- A novel triethylene-tetramine grafted magnetic chitosan was synthesized.
- The maximum adsorption capacity and removal percentage were 370.63 mg/g and 97.89%.
- It was easily separated from aqueous solution in 2 min by external magnetic field.
- It still exhibited good adsorption performance after the fifth regeneration cycle.
