Biotemplate-directed fabrication of size-controlled monodisperse magnetic silica microspheres

The solid and hollow magnetic silica microspheres (MSMs) were successfully prepared using cyanobacteria cells as biotemplates. The cells play dual roles as the biotemplate and the biosorbent.
