Grafting of ionic liquids on stainless steel surface for antibacterial application

- ILs modified SS showed good antibacterial performance against E. coli.
- Anion type of the ILs was crucial for the antibacterial activity against E. coli.
- ILs with bromide anion showed better antibacterial efficiency against E. coli.
