Enhanced oral bioavailability of nevirapine within micellar nanocarriers compared with Viramune®

- NVP-loaded PEO-PPO-PEO polymeric micelles were successfully prepared.
- Addition of pharmaceutical cosolvents (Gly, PG, PEG 400) increased the micellar size and NVP solubility.
- PG and PEG 400 (40% v/v, ratio 1:1) were the best combination to optimize the micellar systems.
- Polymeric micelles presented better pharmacokinetic parameters than Viramune®.
