Synthesis and in vitro evaluation of a pH-sensitive PLA-PEG-folate based polymeric micelle for controlled delivery of docetaxel

- Docetaxel-conjugated PLA-PEG-FOL micelles were successfully synthesized.
- The micelles showed a controlled drug release behavior due to the presence of hydrazone linkage between the polymer and the drug.
- In vitro cytotoxicity of both free docetaxel and its micellar formulations against SKOV3 cell line after 72 h increased in a dose-dependent manner as measured with MTT, neutral red and LDH assays.
