In vitro morphogenesis of PANC-1 cells into islet-like aggregates using RGD-covered dextran derivative surfaces

► Low-fouling carboxymethyl dextran surfaces bearing RGD and RGE were fabricated. ► PANC-1 cells clustered to form islet-like aggregates for each surface. ► Islet-like aggregates expressed insulin and glucagon after 14 days. ► Islet-like aggregates exposed to RGD surfaces were the smallest. ► Islet-like aggregates exposed to RGD surfaces had the highest insulin secretion.
