A parametric and dynamic analysis of non-contacting gas face seals with modified surfaces

The presented model of gas face seals includes the non-linear Reynold׳s equation as well as the equations of dynamics describing the vibrations of the stator which were solved simultaneously with the use of numerical methods. The conducted analyses of the modeled seals and the obtained results may be useful when designing and choosing surface topography to the set operating conditions. It results in longer working time and reliable operation of devices in which those seals were installed.
