Preparation and characterization of sulfonated polyethersulfone for cation-exchange membranes

▶ Polyethersulfone was sulfonated by chlorosulfonic acid for cation-exchange membranes. ▶ Membranes with 40% sulfonation degree exhibited excellent ion-exchange capacity and conductivity. ▶ New membranes to be used for water desalination by electrodialysis.
