Experimental tests on steam reforming of natural gas in a reformer and membrane modules (RMM) plant

▶ Description of a 20 Nm3/h hydrogen pre-industrial natural gas steam reforming plant. ▶ Membrane reactor industrial plant design criteria. ▶ About 1000 operating hours and more than 70 heating and cooling cycles performed. ▶ The average H2 permeability for membranes tested are calculated and compared. ▶ Feed conversion of 57.3% achieved at 600 °C, 26% higher than conventional reformer.
