Influence of molecular weight of PEG on thermal and fire protection properties of PEPA-containing polyether flame retardants with high water solubility

- PEPA-containing polyether (PAPEG) flame retardants with high water solubility were synthesized.
- The char-forming mechanism of PEG was proposed.
- The degradation process of the novel PEPA-containing polyether flame retardants was analyzed.
- Excellent fire protection when PAPEG200 as flame retardant was applied in the waterborne transparent fire resistant coating.
