A HYBRID PETRI NET APPROACH FOR MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS DESIGN

This paper is focused to a hybrid Petri approach for modeling manufacturing systems as hybrid structures. It shows why hybrid modeling is useful for the design process instead of the currently preferred view based on discrete events. In order to solve handling problems, arising from system complexity of larger systems, we combine this method with the object-oriented paradigm.
