Designing of silk and ZnO based antibacterial and noncytotoxic bionanocomposite films and study of their mechanical and UV absorption behavior

- ZnO nanoparticles were impregnated into PVA- silk protein matrix.
- The ZnO nanoparticles exhibited narrow size distribution from 25 to 50 nm.
- AFM studies confirmed planar nature of the surface of the bionanocomposites.
- The bionanocomposites showed fairly good UV absorption.
- The bionanocomposites show antibacterial and noncytotoxic nature.
