On the role of spectral markers and stability in spine models

► We study the role of spectral markers for lumbar spine models. ► We show how significant load changes may not be detected by these markers. ► We show that specific stiffness configurations may give rise to highly sensitive systems. ► Keeping stability of a position under these conditions may require very high stiffnesses. ► Trying to keep stability at all costs may be an actual cause for damage.
