Microstructure, hardness, corrosion resistance and porcelain shear bond strength comparison between cast and hot pressed CoCrMo alloy for metal-ceramic dental restorations

► Two types of CoCrMo dental alloy substrates (cast and hot pressed) were studied. ► Hot pressed substrates revealed finer microstructure than that of cast substrates. ► Hot pressed substrates revealed higher hardness than that of cast substrates. ► Hot pressed substrates revealed greater corrosion resistance than that of cast substrates. ► No significant (p<0.05) differences were found in metal-porcelain bond strength.
