Fibre-reinforced calcium phosphate cements: A review

► The state of the art on calcium phosphate cement composites with fibres is reviewed. ► Polymer or ceramic fibres, either stable or resorbable, can be used as reinforcement. ► Resorbable fibres can generate macropores upon resorption. ► Blending with fibres improves in most cases flexural strength and toughness.
