El adiós a un grande: Gary Becker, 1930-2014

This article pays tribute to Gary Stanley Becker due to his recent death and for being “primarily responsible for what has been called economic imperialism”. Therefore, this article presents a brief intellectual description of Becker, some of his contributions to the understanding of the “human capital theory” and reactions to his death in the community, especially in the most renowned newspapers in Mexico and around the world.
