Inhibitory activity of Filipendula ulmaria constituents on recombinant human histidine decarboxylase

► Inhibitors of histidine decarboxylase were obtained from Filipendula ulmaria. ► Four ellagitannins were isolated as a potent inhibitors. ► One of the four ellagitannins was a novel compound. ► These ellagitannins exhibited a noncompetitive type inhibition with Ki 0.35-1 μM.
