Bioaccumulation of trace elements in water, sediment, and six fish species from a freshwater wetland, Iran

► Heavy metals in sediment decreases as Mn > Ni > Zn > V > Cu > Pb > Cr > Co > Cd. ► Accumulation of elements in carnivore specimen was lower than omnivore species. ► All fish species showed high effective ingested dose over the EPA guideline.
