Recovery of indium from end-of-life liquid-crystal display panels using aminopolycarboxylate chelants with the aid of mechanochemical treatment

► A new method is proposed for recovery of indium from end-of-life liquid-crystal displays (LCDs). ► Mechanochemical treatment of the LCDs enhanced the rate of indium extraction. ► Aminopolycarboxylate chelants (APCs) is evaluated for the recovery of indium. ► An excess of APCs in solution is required to achieve effective rate of extraction. ► The rate of indium extraction is intensified when system temperature is raised.
