Instrumental neutron activation analysis of some fish species from Danube River in Romania

► INAA was used for the determination of 32 elements in Danube fish in Romania. ► Accumulation of trace elements was proved to be species- and element-dependent. ► Roach and silver crucian carp exhibit highest levels of trace elements. ► Sheatfish (Silurus glanis) flesh had the lowest concentrations of all metals. ► Bioaccumulation factors (BAF) in fish were assessed relative to the Danube water.
