Self-aggregation of bio-surfactants within ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide: A comparative study and potential application in antidepressants drug aggregation

Aggregation of bio-surfactants (sodium cholate (NaC) and sodium deoxycholate (NaDC))within imidazolium based ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide [Emim][Br] has been investigated by surface tension, conductivity, fluorescence, dynamic light scattering and FT-IR Spectroscopy. It has been observed that the critical micelle concentration is decreased with increasing the wt% of [Emim]Br] and [Emim][Br] have more affinity for NaC compared to NaDC.307
