Applications of some transformations for several variable-coefficient nonlinear evolution equations from plasma physics, arterial mechanics, nonlinear optics and Bose-Einstein condensates

► This paper is devoted to giving some specific transformations to convert original nonlinear evolution equations. ► Based on those transformations with general constraints, we can simplify the equations and derive the associated Lax pairs. ► We get the Bäcklund transformation by means of the aforementioned transformations.
