Optical transitions of Tm3+ in oxyfluoride glasses and compositional and thermal effect on upconversion luminescence of Tm3+/Yb3+-codoped oxyfluoride glasses

- Tm3+-singly doped and Tm3+/Yb3+-codoped SiO2-BaF2-ZnF2 glasses were prepared.
- Optical transitions of Tm3+-singly doped glasses were investigated on the basis of the Judd-Ofelt theory.
- Upconversion emissions were investigated in Tm3+/Yb3+-codoped glasses under 980 nm excitation.
- The effects of composition, concentration of the doping ions, temperature on the upconversion emissions were studied.
