A cationic metal-organic framework based on {Zn4} cluster for rapid and selective adsorption of dyes

A unique cluster-based cationic framework was successfully constructed by a mixed-ligand strategy. Due to the cationic network and guest anionic molecules in 1D open channels, the MOF can rapidly and selectively adsorb anionic dyes in ethanol solution and release dyes easily based on charge-exclusive effect.
