Facile synthesis of porous LiMn2O4 spheres as cathode materials for high-power lithium ion batteries

► Porous LiMn2O4 spheres have been synthesized by a facile topochemical route. ► Molten LiOH reacted with porous Mn2O3 spheres, which was used as a template. ► The porous sphere LiMn2O4 revealed stable high-rate capability.
