The application of Zn-Al-hydrotalcite as a novel anodic material for Ni-Zn secondary cells

► ZnAl-hydrotalcites were proposed as zinc electrode materials for the first time. ► The electrochemical performances of ZnAl-hydrotalcites were firstly investigated. ► ZnAl-hydrotalcites have superior electrochemical cycle stability. ► The sample of Zn/Al = 4/1 (molar ratio) exhibits best electrochemical properties.
