Improvement of hydrogen storage characteristics of Mg/Mg2Ni by alloying: Beneficial effect of In

► Mechanism of ageing of binary hydrogen storage alloys Mg-Ni was clarified. ► This enabled to improve the H2 desorption kinetics by alloying. ► The best results were achieved by the addition of In to the binary Mg-Ni base.
