Lithium diffusion in sputter-deposited Li4Ti5O12 thin films

► Thin Films of Li4Ti5O12 are deposited by ion beam sputtering. ► XRD and TEM are used to proof the desired structure of the thin films. ► Galvanostatic cycling shows capacity loss at high charging currents. ► A new method is shown to determine the diffusion coefficient of lithium. ► Usage of GITT studies confirms the measured diffusivity.
