Self-assembled synthesis of nanoflower-like Li4Ti5O12 for ultrahigh rate lithium-ion batteries

► The morphology reveals nanoflower-like shape with nanoplates crosslink. ► The thickness of Li4Ti5O12 nanoplates was around 10 nm ► Nanoplates shorten lithium transportation path and facilitate rate capability. ► Nanoflower-like spinel lithium titanate shows an outstanding cycling behavior.
