Effect of β-Li3N phase, Li2O addition and thermal treatment on the hydrogen sorption behavior of Li3N

► The presence of β-Li3N has a detrimental effect on the hydriding properties. ► The milling procedure promotes α to β structural transition in the commercial Li3N. ► Commercial Li3N exhibits the best hydrogen storage properties in the first cycle. ► The addition of LiH influences only the stability of the different Li3N samples under hydrogen cycling.
