Direct electro-oxidation of acetic acid in a solid oxide fuel cell

► Acetic acid is directly fed in a SOFC reactor. ► CH3COOH is decomposed and the resulting fragments are interacting to final products. ► Cu-CeO2 is active towards the electro-oxidation of all combustible species at tpb. ► The charge transfer processes determine the cell performance at CH3COOH-containing feeds. ► The diffusion of charge/neutral species determines the power output at H2-containing feeds.
