Iron(III) benzhydroxamates of dipicolylamines for photocytotoxicity in red light and cellular imaging

An iron(III) benzhydroxamate complex having a dipicolylamine ligand with a pendant pyrenyl moiety shows a remarkable photocytotoxic effect in red light in HeLa cells with nuclear and therapeutically significant mitochondrial localization.
