Genetic diversity among and within Iranian and non-Iranian barely (Hordeum vulgare L.) genotypes using SSR and storage proteins markers

► Genetic diversity and marker-trait association using hordeins and SSRs under drought stress condition. ► Five drought tolerance indices were calculated in 64 barley genotypes. ► Indices able to identify high-yielding, drought-tolerant genotypes under both environmental conditions. ► SSRs and hordeins analysis provided us useful information on the level of polymorphism and diversity. ► Phenotypic traits strongly associated with SSRs and hordeins.
