Phytotoxic effect of bioactive compounds isolated from Myrcia tomentosa (Myrtaceae) leaves

► No studies yet show the activity or the chemical profile of M. tomentosa. ► We prove phytotoxicity in M. tomentosa and identify and isolate active compounds. ► Fractions from which juglanin and avicularin are isolated have phytotoxic activity. ► This is a first report of the presence of quercetin and kaempferol in Myrtaceae.
