Analysis of genetic variation in selected generations of “Whole Red” pattern Cyprinus carpio var.color using ISSR markers

► High genetic diversity of C. carpio var.color was revealed by ISSR marker. ► Genetic diversity reduction was observed with the increase of selected generations. ► AMOVA revealed higher level of genetic variation within four populations. ► Genetic differentiation among C. carpio var.color attributed to artificial selection.
