Synthesis and carbonic anhydrase inhibitory properties of novel bromophenols and their derivatives including natural products: Vidalol B

► A series of bisphenol, bromophenol, and methoxyphenol derivatives were prepared. ► The first and convenient synthesis of vidalol B was also achieved. ► Inhibition of four human CA isozymes, with these compounds were investigated. ► The compounds were found to be promising carbonic anhydrase inhibitors.
